I’ve got a sneaky little side project on the go. Very exciting.
Without giving anything away, it has something to do with books. Real books.
My question to you is:
What’s your favourite copywriting, usability, information architecture, writing for the web, or content strategy book?
Let me know.

Joseph Sugarman’s “The Adweek Copywriting Handbook”, without a doubt. Simply fantastic.
Ps. Ooooh, exciting
.-= Matt Burgess´s last blog ..SEO for Beginners #1: What is SEO, and how does Search work? =-.
Excellent, thanks Matt. Shall add it to my list
Funnily enough I’ve always found myself reaching for this old text book from uni days…Australian Guide to Corporate Communication by Thomas, McKenna, et al. Simple, no bull, useful guidelines for grammar, style, and proof reading. ‘Thomas’ (Glen Thomas) is coincidentally a brilliant lecturer at QUT.
.-= Ally´s last blog ..Tipple: Fringe Bar =-.
Thanks Ally. I haven’t heard of that one, but I’m definitely going to look it up. Are you in a corporate comms role?
No problems Sally. I am indeed in a corporate comms role – mad food blogger by night, sensible comms coordinator by day!

Ah, sounds like a familiar situation…
hmm, not copywriting but I’m reading advanced web metrics with Google Analytics (Brian clifton), always testing (Bryan Eisenberg) and web analytics 2.0 (avinash kaushik) at the moment, all of which are excellent. Always Testing has a massive section on different testing scenarios which includes content and copy – highly recommended
Excellent, cheers Jon. I like Eisenberg.
By far, my favorite (and I have read a lot of them) copywriting book is going to be Dan Kennedy’s Ultimate Sales Letter.
Of course I am a little partial to my own as well, but I can’t compete with the master himself.
Runners-up include:
Ben Settle’s Copywriter’s Cheat Sheet
Bob Bly’s book
tabloid newspapers
-Joshua Black
The Underdog Millionaire

Excellent, thanks Joshua. I think I’m going to add that book to my collection.
I just read your About page on your blog. Seems you have a very interesting background. Have you always been in marketing? Or is that more in recent years?
By far the best one I’ve read is SEO Copywriting by Glenn Murray.
Ah yes, he’s a clever cookie that Glenn. Thanks for dropping by Sarah.
